Arson Crimes

Arson is listed in the PA criminal statutes as a crime against property. However, Arson Endangering Persons is often a more serious matter with stiffer penalties. Property related arson crimes are generally sentenced no higher than a felony in the second degree whereas arson endangering persons is a felony in the first degree and can lead to a murder charge if the fire resulted in the death of any person(including first responders, firefighters, and police officers).
